Performance Poetry – Nursery Rhymes

The Year 1 children have been learning many different nursery rhymes this week. We have been learning all about APE (Audience, Purpose and Effect). Our audience was younger children, the purpose was to entertain and we wanted them to enjoy and laugh at our morfos as an effect. The children worked hard to learn their rhyme. Have a look!

Our PE lesson

We are currently learning all about Fundamental Skills through Gymnastics. We were looking at different types of jumps today including a pencil jump, tuck jump, star jump and a turn jump. We talked about how a good jump needs ‘bouncy knees’ when landing.

We also talked about using the benches and mats safely. For our first go, Mrs Stalker was very impressed.

During TED time, we watched our videos back and talked about the WAGOLLS and WABOLLS that we could see. What do you think Mr Porter? Any tips for us?
