The Year 1 children have been learning many different nursery rhymes this week. We have been learning all about APE (Audience, Purpose and Effect). Our audience was younger children, the purpose was to entertain and we wanted them to enjoy and laugh at our morfos as an effect. The children worked hard to learn their rhyme. Have a look!
Key Person time: As Christmas is coming, have you written your letter to Santa? What have you asked for and why do you want it?
We are currently learning all about Fundamental Skills through Gymnastics. We were looking at different types of jumps today including a pencil jump, tuck jump, star jump and a turn jump. We talked about how a good jump needs ‘bouncy knees’ when landing.
We also talked about using the benches and mats safely. For our first go, Mrs Stalker was very impressed.
During TED time, we watched our videos back and talked about the WAGOLLS and WABOLLS that we could see. What do you think Mr Porter? Any tips for us?
For your child’s Key Person time, we would like your child to talk about a celebration that they have been to, e.g: a wedding, christening etc. Could they bring in a photograph to help prompt and an adult could support with practising at home.

For Key Person time this week we would like your child to bring in something that is special to them.This could be their first toy, a photograph of a relative, a certificate etc. If it is something very precious please bring in a photograph rather than the item. Please make sure that the item will fit into your child’s tray (no large items please).

For Key Person time this week, we are looking at St John Ambulance resources which helps support the delivery of basic healthy living and safety measures such as, road safety, healthy eating, what do you do if someone was feeling unwell, what would you do in an emergency. Please have a discussion with your children about these topics.
